Golden Apple Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and HIGHERS ISLAND (“we”) about your use of the Golden Apple app (the “App”). Golden Apple is made by the Golden Apple Production Committee and operated by HIGHERS ISLAND; “we” in this document means the operator.

1Agreement

• By downloading, signing in to or using the App, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.
• These terms supplement Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; both apply.

2Your account

• Keep your sign-in details safe.
• Your account is for you alone. You may not sell, transfer or lend it.
• If you are a minor, use the App only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

3Virtual items and purchases

• Virtual items such as Dew, Firewood and Memories are a licence to use them in the App, not property. They have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, transferred or traded outside the App.
• Purchases are made through the Apple App Store at the price shown there, and are delivered to your account once complete.
• Except where the law requires otherwise or Apple approves a refund, purchased virtual items are non-refundable. Request refunds from Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com); if Apple refunds a purchase, we may remove the matching items. Refunds when the service ends follow section 9 (Changes to the service) and the channel given in the closure notice, and are not limited by this paragraph.
• If you delete your account, the virtual items in it are lost and cannot be restored; however, any refund right that already arose under the law or section 9 before deletion is not lost by deleting your account.

4Game content and operation

• Seasonal content, expeditions, numbers and odds may change for game balance and operation.
• The wheel in the farm’s Game Room uses only care items earned in the game; it cannot be spun with money or paid items. The odds of every slot are shown in the game (the question-mark button next to the wheel).
• Redeem codes and invite rewards give only items that can also be earned for free in the game. Codes have an expiry date and can be used once per account. Invite rewards are only for new players who enter a code during their first days, and the inviter’s rewards are capped at a set number of people.
• Summoning uses Memories. You can earn Memories in the game or buy them in the Supply Shop (with a purchase limit each solar term).

5What you must not do

• Use cheats, or modify the app, your save data or its network traffic.
• Exploit bugs for gain.
• Reverse-engineer the App, or access or disrupt our servers with automated tools.
• Abuse the service with false information or multiple accounts (including the gallery painting quota, redeem codes and invite rewards).
• Put offensive, harassing or advertising content, personal contact details, or anything that infringes others’ rights in your nickname or notice-board text. We may hide it or ask you to change it.
• Harass or impersonate anyone in support messages, or infringe anyone’s rights.

6Enforcement

Depending on the seriousness, we may remove improperly obtained items, or suspend or close your account.

7Intellectual property

• The App’s content — including the world, characters, spirits, art, music, text and software of the original work The Kingdom of Vanished Forests — belongs to us or our licensors.
• Gallery paintings are generated by AI from game content and also belong to us. You may save and share them for personal, non-commercial purposes (including with the App’s Share and Save features).

8AI and accuracy

Gallery paintings and drafts of support replies are made with the help of AI. Information about plants and places in the game is written for the game experience and is not guaranteed to be fully accurate.

9Changes to the service

• We may change, suspend or end all or part of the App.
• If we end the service, we will announce it in the App and on our website at least 30 days in advance, and we will also notify you individually if you have given us contact details such as an email address.
• When the service ends, we will refund, as required by law, paid virtual items you bought but have not yet used — no matter how long ago you bought them. How refunds are calculated and how to apply will be explained in the closure announcement and the individual notice.

10Liability

If you suffer damage for reasons attributable to us, we are liable for it as provided by law.

11Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and its effective date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new terms.

12Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and the Taiwan Taipei District Court has jurisdiction as the court of first instance. Mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country or region still apply.
